In the beginning: Sometime in September 2009 we were approached by a no-name online blog who requested of us a comprehensive social media strategy to deliver sizable traffic while at the same time focusing on long term SEO and growth. Sounds simple enough...
The challenge: They had absolutely no social media presence to date, no one knew who they were, and their niche was already saturated by identical blogs competing in the same marketplace. So, we did what any online company does that realizes this scenario - we spammed their email. Kidding! We absolutely never turn down a good challenge!
Our solution: We gave them strategic ways to differentiate themselves from the competition, and a recommendation of which of social media's countless utilities to employ. Our focus was on Digg, our crown jewel service, and since the very first front page they have been with us. Slowly but surely we've helped them monitor their progress and their goals, and have consistently outperformed expectations. We've gone on to running campaigns on other networks (Twitter, Facebook, and countless others) over the months. Fast-forward to today...Their result: 14 months later, and they have now seen over 27,000,000 website visitors:
Over 1,000,000 have been from Digg directly. Hundreds of thousands more from the other social networks we've promoted them on in addition. We directly handle their entire Facebook program.
The sheer number of front pages we've delivered for them has resulted in some of the most amazing SEO feats, helping them rank for keywords previously thought impossible. 15,000,000+ of those visitors have come in organically through search engines (mostly Google) for the same keywords we helped them rank for via strategically creative and unique captions and headings.
At this point they recently received capital funding for their monthly spending with us, making it virtually unlimited. And to add a cherry on this case study's cake, they've additionally received two buy-out offers surpassing a whopping $10 million USD that they respectfully declined, vowing to keep advertising with us until their valuations top at least $50M USD.
To respond to a growing request for the client identity, to reiterate, we simply aren't allowed to disclose their identity due to a mutual NDA. However, we're fairly certain that if you've been active online that you've surely stumbled upon them on more than one occasion. ;)

To us, successful Social Media Marketing is the leveraging of available social networking outlets in a way that breeds genuine conversation among millions of the users surrounding the predetermined target. That buzz is what fuels public opinion, brand awareness, and ultimately turns conversations into customers for you.
